FlightSimExpo 2021 to Take Place in San Diego and Online

FlightSimExpo is to hold next year’s event in San Diego, California, in what they are terming a “hybrid online and in-person event.”

Through a press release sent to Threshold, FlightSimExpo is to hold the event at the Town and Country Resort in the city from 4th June to 6th June next year.

FlightSimExpo 2021 is to retain the three-day event used in 2019 with the conference and tradeshow on Saturday and Sunday, and Captains’ Corner seminars to take place on the Friday.

The event will feature in-person events and exhibitors as has previous events, but an online component is to also debut next year in light of the coronavirus pandemic where the online-only events will be exclusive for those who register.

Co-founder Evan Reiter made it clear the team does not want to disadvantage those who may not be able to attend.

“Recognizing current times, we wanted to make FlightSimExpo 2021 accessible to anyone.”

“Safety-permitting, we’ll welcome those who want to join us in person in San Diego. And if you can’t attend the in-person event—or prefer not to—you’ll still be able to connect with this year’s show online.”

Additional co-founder Phil Coyle expanded on the theme for the event and further details for attendees.

“The theme of this year’s event is flexibility and transparency.

“When we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 show, we gave everyone the option to receive a refund. We will offer the same flexibility again this year: it will be free to change or cancel your registration up to the day before the show and of course there’s the online-only option for attendees to consider too.

“Even if it’s not safe for us to host an in-person event, there will be a FlightSimExpo 2021!”

The press release also detailed why San Diego was selected, highlighting great transport options, good weather all year-round, and aviation-specific attractions such as the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum and the San Diego Air and Space Museum.

Attendees who book through FlightSimExpo can grab accommodation at the Town and Country Resort for US $151.87 per night, including taxes and fees.

Furthermore, hotel service charges are waived, unlimited in-room WiFi, and shuttle services to local attractions are included in the price.

Attendee registration will open in early 2021.

Further details on the event, including those about COVID-19, are available to view on their website.
