Orbx Unveils Mumbai City Scenery Microsoft Flight Simulator

Earlier this week, scenery developer Orbx has announced its trip towards the second most populous nation in the world, India, for its newest product for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Gateway of India - Landmarks Mumbai. As expected from Orbx’s repertoire of city renditions, one would expect all the bells and whistles for Mumbai; featuring highly detailed models, with custom landmarks placed all around the city, a bit of terraforming was done coupled with custom orthoimagery and refined shoreline adjustments, the default scenery was adjusted to give it that extra push in immersion too.

The scenery, an accurate reflection of its real life counterpart, features 16 high-detail models that celebrates the diverse architecture of the city, ranging from Victorian Gothic to Ultramodern styles, some highlights include the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Gateway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Omkar 1973, and Imperial Towers, as well as Bandra–Worli Sea Link. To further populate the rendition, an additional 100 medium level detail buildings has been created and placed throughout the city.

Anticipating the surgence of helicopters in MSFS in the near future, Orbx conveniently includes several rooftop helipads in addition to the landmarks, including “the Antilia billionaire's residence and Taj Wellington Mews, Palais Royale tower, Navy's frigates, and Shikra Heliport”.

Currently, Orbx has indicated that the product will be released on July 23th, which is in three days time. No information on pricing has been disclosed, but we’ll keep you updated! An exciting quality rendition of a rather undercovered part of the world. In the meantime, you can check out more images on Orbx's announcement page.
