No Money Mondays: Richmond County Airport

Welcome to this week's No Money Monday! This week, we're featuring the Richmond County Airport, a small public municipal airport three miles from Rockingham, North Carolina. KRCZ features a 5,000-foot runway and a secondary turf runway measuring 3,900 feet in length. While primarily used for general aviation operations, KRCZ does offer several aircraft parking and storage hangars. KRCZ was chosen for this week's No Money Monday for its accuracy and attention to detail with custom 3D-modeled assets unique to this airport and scenery. The Airport Guys brought us more than just the field but several surrounding buildings and companies along Airport Road. These buildings feature custom modeling texturing and materials based on real-life structures.

The main office of the airport is modeled with great attention to detail. The rocking chairs and the "Richmond County Airport" signs add to the scenery and make it stand out.

Nice details such as the placement of perimeter fencing, 3D trees, and everyday objects bring this scenery to life and make it a great choice for No Money Monday. Other custom additions include auto prompts opening the fueling window when approaching the fueling pits.

The Airport Guys have a ton more features packed into this freeware scenery to explore! This is their official list from flightsim.to

Some features you'll find:

- The lighting system is completely custom so nothing shows up out of place or scale or overlapped. It includes the amber edge lights on the last 2,000 feet of the runway, a feature I've actually never seen

in an MSFS scenery.

- A custom windsock to replace ASOBO's gaudy default one.

- A custom rotating beacon... also to replace ASOBO's gaudy default one.

- Custom taxiway signs

- The self-serve pump will prompt you to refuel if you pull up to it in the yellow hatched area, or if you choose one of the two parking spots nearby.

- Tons of goodies to explore surrounding the airport. All is as you'd see it if visiting the airport in real life.
