Today's No Money Monday takes us to a one-of-a-kind airstrip, Fish Like (S92). Fish Lake is nestled within the mountains of Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, with Syringa being the nearest populated town via HWY12. The Lake creates ideal spots for camping, while the Fish Lake Trail is perfect for hiking. The area boasts stunning scenery, with tall Douglas Firs covering the surroundings as far as the eye can see.

(S92) is found at an elevation of 5,646 feet with a grass strip that is 2,650 feet long and open to the public. The strip is a little rough and worn, with patch work repairs are being made by The Forest service according to the Idaho Aviation Association. The runway headings are 5/23, but several obstructions, such as rising terrain, trees, and ridges, are at the Lake's end. (S92) is one-way in and out, with the approach being a one-shot no, go-around landing due to the rising terrain. Of course, flying into the airstrip during sufficient natural lighting and visibility is critical to making it into the strip in one piece. Depart utilizing runway 23 over the Lake. Also, Keep density altitude in mind at this elevation, especially during hot weather conditions.

David Goose brought the strip to life in Microsoft Flight Simulator with plenty of details, such as placed vegetation, custom trees, animals, campgrounds lookout towers, and more. There are many places to explore during your stay at the Lake, thanks to the hidden 3D props and animated objects. The scenic backdrop gave me fantastic shots for virtual photography, which was great fun.

The download size of the package alone is negligible. The bulk comes from the dependencies at about 3GB. Despite the large file size, you may also have multiple object libraries used by other scenery packages. Flightsim.to makes it easy to identify the required libraries through the check marks placed next to the associated assets. Once downloaded place all the files into your community folder as directed; once extracted, fire up the sim and have fun and enjoy.
