The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orbx, John Venema, has posted two renders of an airport terminal, saying this is a "sneak peek of another airport up north in the UK."

Threshold did some digging and quickly found these renders to resemble that of Newcastle International Airport, situated in the north-east of England, in Great Britain.

We asked Mr Venema what simulators the airport is to come to, to which he replied X-Plane 11 and Prepar3D.

The airport has seen year-on-year growth since 2011, although has not yet reached the number of passengers seen in 2007, at around 5.7 million - 2018 saw 300,000 fewer passengers than in 2007.

The airport is used by low cost carriers such as easyJet and Ryanair, whilst TUI Airways and Jet2.com add charter flights.

Orbx has been releasing and announcing a lot of content as of late: The past week has seen further previews of Edinburgh, following its announcement one week ago; a global tree replacement product, TerraFlora, was announced for X-Plane 11 yesterday; and Sandro De Sarro released his rendition of Clench Common Field (EG20).
