Orbx Announce Sogndal Haukåsen Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Popular developer Orbx has announced their next airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, created for them by Andreas Hegi. The airport is Sogndal Haukåsen Airport, and was announced via their forums.

“Originally developed for the ESP platform, Andreas has reworked the airport from scratch with introduced 4K HD textures and PBR”, Orbx says on the post. This Norwegian airport scenery also includes extra details such as custom ortho for the airport area, conditional display on people models according to time/weather, and added tower/ATIS frequencies.

Sogndal Haukåsen Airport offers stunning visual and instrument approaches which will test your skill in bad weather. The airport uses PLASI (Pulse Light Approach Indicators) for visual guidance towards the runway that is perched atop a plateau. Its 1,180 metre runway is serviced mostly by Widerøe Dash 8s and is the sole airport serving the district of Sogn.

You can find more photos of this scenery on the original post on Orbx’s forums. In the post, Orbx also mentioned to keep “an eye out for more screenshots over the next few days”. In the meantime, you can read more about Orbx’s previous payware scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator - Dubai City Landmarks - in this article.
