No Money Mondays: Chico Municipal By Ryan_Martin

Another Monday is upon us, and that means that we have another free airfield for you to enjoy!

Chico Regional is a small General Aviation airport, located on the eastern side of California’s scenic Sacramento Valley. It is situated halfway between Redding Regional Airport to the north, and Sacramento International Airport to the south.

Although the airport doesn’t currently have commercial service, the 6,724-foot runway, 13L/31R, can certainly accommodate the 737 and A320 families, if that is your style.

That said, this airport, and its picturesque location among the foothills of rural California, may warrant something smaller and slower.

When you are done exploring the airport itself, be sure to fly up and down the Sacramento River, and check out the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada and Cascades to the east.

Although the scenery was designed for X-Plane 11, it works just as well in X-Plane 12. You will need the OpenScenery X and MisterX libraries installed for the scenery to run correctly.

The scenery is available for download via the X-Plane.org forums.
