Orbx Releases Darrington Municipal Airport for MSFS

Previewed a short four days ago, Andreas Hegi's latest scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator has now been released, according to the product's publisher Orbx.

It marks the fifth airport in North America released for the new simulator by Orbx, who followed up two on-release airports (Orca's Island & Tacoma Narrows) with Hollywood Burbank and Santa Barbara Municipal shortly after.

"Darrington Municipal Airport has one of the most glorious settings in the entire flight simulator world! Serving Snohomish County and dwarfed by the shadow of the mighty Whitehorse Mountain, this airfield is set in the heart of picturesque Darrington village on the confluence of two rivers," reads the product description.

The feature list for the scenery goes as follows:

  • Completely new version of 1S2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Full PBR UHD texturing
  • Charming bespoke details
  • Plenty of town landmarks and POI
  • Completely new weather-influenced ground polygon
  • Sloped runway
  • Complete dynamic & emissive night lighting
  • Improved and updated vegetation and grass
  • Ultra high-definition GSE
  • One of our most popular destinations of the PNW
  • Perfect for VFR flyers
  • Developed by Andreas Hegi

Darrington's $16.99 AUD price tag makes it the cheapest airport in Orbx's Microsoft Flight Simulator range - a cost which converts to roughly US$12.38, €10,45 or £9.67.
