Welcome back to another No Money Monday! This week’s instalment features Eindhoven Airport (ICAO: EHEH) by TSC777 for X-Plane 12.

Eindhoven Airport was first opened in 1932 as a small airfield with a grass runway. The Dutch military acquired the airfield in 1939 due to rising tensions with the Germans, who captured the airport in 1940.

A terminal building wasn’t constructed until the 1980s, but it has now become the second-largest Dutch airport, following Amsterdam Schiphol. The airport went through extensive work in 2012, and is also currently going through renovations to extend the terminal by close to 8,000 square meters.

TSC777 has done an outstanding job recreating the airport in X-Plane, utilising custom objects and high-quality satellite imagery. I was truly impressed when I first loaded it. Although the resolution is somewhat low, the buildings are remarkable for freeware, and the airport layout is both current and accurate. I also appreciate the use of realistic grass, which is something we don't often see in freeware scenery.

The scenery shows the airport as it is now, excluding the terminal extension. Let’s hope TSC777 offers an updated version once the renovations are finished!

The scenery is available for free on the X-Plane.org forum and is compatible with X-Plane 12.3 and upwards.
