Happy Monday, and happy No Money Monday! This week, we check out HSSsimulations’ beautiful recreation of San Jose del Cabo (MMSD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

San Jose Del Cabo Airport (MMSD), located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, is the sixth busiest airport in Mexico and the 23rd busiest in Latin America, serving over 7 million passengers each year.

The once relatively rudimentary airport was originally opened in 1977, but has undergone significant change since. In no small part due to American and Canadian tourists. Today, it has more than 50 destinations worldwide, primarily being served by American and Canadian airlines. With that it is also Mexico’s fourth largest airport for international passengers.

HSSsimulation’s recreation of the scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator is beautifully done, and I was very impressed by the level of detail. The developers have created custom terminals, control towers and other airport structures, as well as an up-to-date airport structure, fully ready for AI traffic. In addition, the scenery has a custom terrain profile that covers most of the airport. According to the developers, a GSX profile is also on the way.
