It's Monday, and time for another No Money Monday! This week features the Red Sea International Airport by Skydom (ICAO: OERS).

Red Sea International is one of the most modern airports in the world. It began operations on September 21, 2023, and is projected to serve one million passengers by 2030. The airport aims to be a key gateway for the Saudi Vision 2030 tourism projects. Currently, the area surrounding the airport is quite barren, but significant investments are planned for the future.

The airport is being developed by a new studio called Skydom, which is based in the UAE. They are also currently developing Dubai South (Al Maktoum) and Mykonos Airport.

Skydom announces that Red Sea International has created a high-fidelity model of the iconic terminal building for X-Plane, featuring dynamic vegetation, static amphibious aircraft, optimised performance for smooth gameplay on X-Plane 12, and an accurate and up-to-date airport layout.

I am consistently impressed by the creations of the X-Plane freeware community, but this particular scenery is some of the best I've ever seen. It rivals payware airports in quality. The terminal building, interiors, parking lots, and apron are all highly detailed. This is definitely an airport I will continue flying to for years to come.

Red Sea International Airport by Skydom for X-Plane 12 is available for free through Skydom’s own website. An account is needed for download.
