Another week, another No Money Monday! This week, we explore Ocala International Jim Taylor Field, created by TBryson2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Ocala is a small city in central Florida, about an hour’s drive from Orlando. Though quieter than its neighbour, Jim Taylor Field sees steady general aviation traffic and serves as a hub for flight training.

Originally constructed in the 1960s, the airport features a 7,467-foot main runway, as well as a 3,009-foot crosswind runway. Over the years, it was served by several regional and national carriers, including Eastern Airlines and Air Florida. Scheduled passenger flights ceased in 1987.

TBryson2’s rendition covers the entire airport, featuring custom buildings, assets and hangars. Many textures are sourced from the real-world counterpart, using photo scans.

The Sheltair terminal building features detailed interior modelling, along with animated details like a wind-responsive flag. Dynamic lighting is used throughout the airport, and taxiways and signage match official diagrams.
