It’s a new week here at Threshold, and you know what that means, another edition of No Money Mondays! Every Monday, we showcase some of flight simulation’s best freeware from the community! This week, we’re heading north, above the arctic circle, to check out the amazing work of artogsta, and their version of Tromsø Airport in Norway for Microsoft Flight Simulator!

Tromsø has had two airports throughout its history, the first being a water aerodrome located off the coast of Skattøra in the 1930’s. It served various roles in wartime and during peace. In 1950, a proposal was made to build an airfield for Tromsø in the town of Lagnes. Construction of the airport started in 1962, with a 2130 meter (7090ft) long runway, and one passenger terminal. The airport officially opened in 1963, being served by Scandinavian Airlines and later Braathens SAFE. Today, the airport sees around 2 million passengers per year, and is served by 11 airlines to over 40 destinations around Europe. It is a focus airport for Widerøe, which serves many smaller destinations in northern Norway in regional aircraft.

The simulator rendition of Tromsø Airport has many features, including:
- Custom terminal building

- 3D Terminal interior

- Accurate taxiway markings and lights

- Custom jetways

- Accurate night lighting

- Custom landside area

- Accurate airport surface snow buildup

You can get this amazing scenery at flightsim.to
