No Money Mondays: Vilnius International Airport by Emilis
August 11, 2025
Freeflight
It is finally Monday again! This week’s freeware spotlight heads to the Baltic region, where developer Emilis has recreated Vilnius International Airport (EYVI) for XP11/12. Threshold previously featured Vilnius International in 2024, then a different scenery, for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This week, we revisit the Lithuanian Capital, now in the X-Plane environment.

Situated approximately 4 miles south of the Lithuanian capital’s city centre, Vilnius is the busiest airport in the country, serving as a base for airBaltic, Ryanair, and Wizz Air, and handling around 5 million passengers annually.

Developer Emilis delivers a modern and detailed rendition of the airport, complete with recent developments such as the new departure terminal, taxiway Z, and the expanded J apron. The terminal’s distinctive design, a mix of modern glass and the airport’s older Soviet-era architecture, is accurately depicted, complemented by a faithfully recreated ATC tower.

Beyond the airfield, Emilis has included surrounding landmarks, like the local IKEA warehouse, cargo handling facilities, general aviation hangars, and the plane spotting area near the perimeter.

Furthermore, the Aircraft rescue and firefighting facilities, Flight Technics hangar, and the Baltic Ground Services buildings all feature in the detailed scenery, with up-to-date taxiway and apron markings.

This high-quality freeware scenery of Lithuania’s busiest Airport is available for download on the X-Plane forums. The package requires the third-party libraries OpenSceneryX and MisterX Library to function properly.
