Freeflight

Welcome to the first Monday of June and the inaugural edition of No Money Mondays for this month. Today, we’re focusing on Western Canada, specifically the city of Vancouver. We will explore Project_SCNE’s rendition of Vancouver International Airport (CYVR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Opened in 1931, Vancouver International Airport is the second busiest airport in Canada. The current main terminal was completed in 1968 and has undergone several expansions since then. The north runway was finished in 1996. Today, the airport has two main runways and two terminals. It serves as a hub for Air North and WestJet, along with serving a variety of other airlines. Each year, the airport welcomes over 26 million passengers and accommodates nearly 290,000 aircraft movements.

The freeware version of the airport includes a fully custom modelled rendition of Vancouver International Airport, complete with full airport night lighting and additional features.

The freeware scenery is available on flightsim.to for those interested in flying to or from the Canadian coastal city.
