Welcome back to another instalment of No Money Mondays! This week, we visit the newly expanded Nuuk Airport in Greenland, beautifully recreated in X-Plane by AeroX.

Nuuk Airport is the main international airport serving Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. It acts as a hub for Air Greenland, with both international and domestic destinations.

The airport first opened in 1979 and was originally designed for short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, which limited its ability to offer direct international routes. However, between 2019 and 2024, the airport underwent major renovations, including extending the runway to 2,200 meters and constructing a brand new terminal. These upgrades significantly improved Nuuk’s connectivity and enabled more direct routes. Additionally, they reduced reliance on Kangerlussuaq Airport for long-haul travel.

AeroX offers an impressive and detailed recreation of the entire airport, designed with a custom mesh to reflect its elevated location. The airport also includes surrounding satellite scenery and features high-resolution textures along with custom buildings, creating an exceptional experience.

I was truly impressed by the quality and attention to detail that AeroX showcased. The scenery provides excellent quality at an unbeatable price.

If you are looking to explore one of the northernmost commercial airports in the world, AeroX’s Nuuk scenery for X-Plane 12 is very much worth a try. It is available on the X-Plane.org forum.
