Another Monday, another edition of No Money Mondays! This week, we’re in Japan again, visiting the island of Kyushu and exploring the amazing rendition of the Kumamoto Airport, made by keisim for FS2020.

Opened in 1971 to replace the old Kumamoto Airport, its successor had a 2,500-meter runway until, nine years later, when it received a 500-meter extension to comfortably accommodate wide-body aircraft.

Following the earthquake in 2016 that damaged the airport’s facilities, Kumamoto Airport Co., Ltd., a private sector company, took over the airport from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in order to speed up the recovery process and improve the service.

Currently, the airport serves 15 airlines, such as ANA, Japan Airlines, Amakusa Airlines, Asiana, Hong Kong Airlines, Korean Airlines and Starlux, to 11 destinations, most of them being domestic ones to the hubs or the other regional airports.

Keisim’s fantastic rendition of Kumamoto Airport features a new domestic terminal with a modelled interior, custom ground marking and taxiway signs as well as custom-made airport facilities.
